Procurement Assistant

OVERVIEW

The incumbent will be responsible for all administrative tasks assigned by the Procurement Product Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior Secondary Certificate (Grade 12).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Previous experience and a qualification in the Pharmaceutical Wholesale Industry will be advantageous.
  • No criminal record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
  • Solid understanding of basic mathematics and numerical accuracy.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Logical thinking, persuasiveness, and the ability to deliver presentations confidently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up on orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery within agreed timelines.
  • Manage all outstanding and back-ordered items within the assigned portfolio.
  • Process and capture invoices, as well as handle invoice-related claims.
  • Assist with updates to the item master and pricing information.
  • Provide administrative support at reception when requested.
  • Communicate order and product information from suppliers to buyers and telesales team.
  • Respond to queries related to Receiving, Procurement, and Warehousing and Stock Management as directed by product managers.
  • Get quotations for clearance and transport.
  • Required to prepare the necessary transport and permit applications for permit orders.
